The trailer for Haile Gerima's "Black Lions — Roman Wolves" has been released ahead of its world premiere at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival.
The nearly ten-hour, five-part documentary chronicles Ethiopia's resistance against fascist Italy from 1935 to 1941. Financed entirely outside commercial studio and institutional funding systems, the project represents decades of work by the legendary filmmaker.
"Black Lions – Roman Wolves" screens in Berlinale Forum from February 16–18, 2026.
