EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed Greta Gerwig, the actress-turned-blockbuster filmmaker who will follow Barbiewith Narnia. Latter is the C.S. Lewis novels adaptation that stars Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, Emma Mackey and Meryl Streep as the voice of the lion Aslan. Netflix releases the film in IMAX theaters on November 26 and it will be globally released on Netflix Christmas Day. Gerwig wrote the script.
Barbie, which grossed north of $1.4 billion worldwide and garnered eight Oscar noms including Best Picture, with a win for Original Song. That film was half of the Barbenheimer summer that really helped bring the theatrical film business back from Covid along with Oppenheimer. She has emerged as one of the brightest hyphenates in the game.
