Cannes 2026: NIFS and Nile Entertainment Partner on Focus on Africa Conference

The Nigerian International Film Summit (NIFS) and Moses Babatope's Nile Entertainment have partnered to co-produce a Focus on Africa Conference at the Cannes 2026 Marché du Film (12–23 May 2026). The conference will profile African co-production opportunities, film finance structures, and distribution pathways for the global market.

Moses Babatope, CEO of Nile Entertainment and co-founder of FilmHouse Cinemas (Nigeria's second-largest cinema chain), brings significant industry weight to the partnership. NIFS has established itself as one of Nigeria's premier industry knowledge-exchange platforms.

The Focus on Africa Conference positions Nigeria at the center of the growing African film market presence at Cannes, alongside the Africa Pavilion and other continental initiatives. Key topics expected to include: intra-African co-production treaties, DTIC/NFVF incentive access for Nigerian producers, streaming platform acquisition strategies, and emerging microdrama/short-form investment opportunities.
