La Biennale di Venezia has selected four African projects for the 2026 Venice Gap-Financing Market.
The project-financing section of Venice Production Bridge runs from 4–6 September 2026, during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, scheduled for 2–12 September 2026 in Venice, Italy.
The four African selections comprise three Moroccan titles and one Kenyan title, split evenly between documentary and fiction; the Kenyan entry is presented under the Biennale College Cinema strand.
"Tithes & Offering" (Kenya) — Tony Koros' fiction title is presented among the Biennale College Cinema selections. It's produced by We Are Not the Machine Ltd.
"Don't Let the Sun Go Up On Me" (Morocco, Norway, France, Chile) — Asmae El Moudir's documentary is produced by Insight Films, Haut et Court Doc, Quijote Films and Lofoten Film.
"Stallions" (Morocco, United States) — Rita Baghdadi's documentary is from Lady & Bird Films.
"Wolfmother" (France, Morocco) — Ismaël El Iraki's fiction feature is from Special Touch Studios and Kasbah Films.
The Venice Gap-Financing Market is one of the European festival calendar's key late-stage financing platforms, connecting selected feature films, documentaries and immersive projects with financiers, sales companies, distributors, streamers, broadcasters and other industry partners.
