Zambia's Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, Africa Creative Market, and the National Arts Council of Zambia announced a joint "Creative Convergence" program at a press conference at the Lusaka Showgrounds on 13 June 2026.
The Creative Industry Business Summit will run from 29 June to 2 July 2026. It will be followed by the Kwimbo National Arts Festival on 3 and 4 July 2026.
At the press conference, organizers presented the events as a cohesive program that connects policy, business matchmaking, and cultural programming for Zambia's creative sector.
Kangwa Chileshe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts, said Zambia has introduced policy, legislative, and institutional reforms for the creative arts sector over the past five years. He also cited the removal of import duties on music and film equipment and Zambia's accession to the ATA Carnet system, which allows temporary duty-free importation of commercial creative goods.
Africa Creative Market said the Zambia event is its first main expansion outside Lagos, Nigeria. The organization said it has facilitated more than $200 million in investments across Africa since its launch in 2022.
Dr. Bridget Kambobe was appointed as the official Patroness of the Africa Creative Market Zambia.
The program will include partner-led segments for fashion, photography, digital creators, creative legal issues, and acting. Partners include FashionEVO, Business of Photography, Digital Creator Africa, Global Creative Legal Summit, and Actors Spaces.
Meanwhile, Kwimbo 2026 will feature fashion, music, film, digital arts, comedy, theatre, dance, literary arts, and visual crafts.
