
AXS Film Fund
An annual grant from AXS Lab (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) supporting independent documentary filmmakers and nonfiction new-media creators living with disabilities, with priority for creators from historically underserved racial and ethnic communities. Format
Documentary films & nonfiction new media — feature-length (45+ min) or experimental nonfiction, any production stage (development to distribution).
Eligibility
Individual creators 18+ who are the director or producer of the project and are not enrolled in a full-time degree-granting program. Creators living with a disability — particularly from historically underserved racial and ethnic communities — are especially encouraged to apply (encouraged, not strictly required). Open internationally: no country, residency or citizenship restriction, so African filmmakers are eligible. Non-English projects must include English subtitles. Fiscal sponsors are permitted.
What You Get
A grant of up to $10,000 (3–5 creators selected each year) to support a project at any stage of production, plus visibility through AXS Lab.
What to Submit
Apply online through the AXS Film Fund portal (axsfilmfundapply.smapply.us): project details, a work sample/video component, and current production stage. No letter of inquiry required.
