FESPACO 2027 – Call for Film Submissions
FESPACO invites films for the Official Selection of its 30th edition, held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on 20–27 March 2027. The official call lists a submission window of 24 February–20 October 2026, covering official competition and out-of-competition programmes.

Format
Feature fiction and documentaries (60+ minutes); fiction/documentary shorts and animation (1–35 minutes); film-school films (3–26 minutes); series (two 52-minute, three 26-minute or six 13-minute consecutive episodes).
Eligibility
Official competition: African filmmakers and filmmakers from the African diaspora. Out-of-competition programmes are open worldwide. Films must be no more than two years old as of 31 December 2026, must not have appeared at a previous FESPACO edition, and must not have been commercially released in Burkina Faso.

What to Submit
Submit through the FESPACO 2027 film submission page linked from the official ABCA/FESPACO websites. Supply the film and category-specific materials requested in the form, accept the festival regulations and pay the submission fee.

Check the category’s runtime or episode requirements and film-age eligibility before paying the submission fee. Confirm that the film has not previously screened at FESPACO or had a commercial release in Burkina Faso.
