NBO Project Showcase 2026

10 feature projects (5 documentaries, 5 fiction) selected at the NBO Film Festival's new industry track for films in development or pre-production. Selected projects pitch directly to international producers, buyers, and investors. The festival weekend (Oct 21–23) also features 12 industry panels covering streaming, co-productions, AI on set, and scoring; brunches and mixers with buyers, editors, and studio executives; work-in-progress screenings for finishing funds; and cash-grant awards including the Writers' Prize and the Dan Marano Scholarship.

Eligibility

Feature film (fiction or creative documentary) with a strong African narrative. At least 20% of the project budget must already be secured. Filmmakers must be seeking international collaboration, sales, or distribution. Open to filmmakers across the African continent.

A dedicated pitching slot at the NBO Pitching Sessions; 1-on-1 meetings with international buyers and festival scouts; eligibility for the NBO Development Grant (KES 250,000 in development funding).
