SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE — CO-PRODUCTION PITCH

Seriencamp Conference is a three-day industry event held every June in Cologne — the heart of German public broadcasting, home to WDR, RTL, and ZDF's largest production hub. Running for 12 years, it has relocated from Munich to Cologne where it is funded by the State of North Rhine- Westphalia and Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, with ZDF Studios as main industry partner. An independent jury selects 8 projects to pitch live on stage to producers, distributors, and broadcasters. Up to 20 additional projects are listed in the Digital Story Exchange — a curated digital platform sent exclusively to all accredited industry professionals before the event. The winning project receives the Seriencamp Co-Pro Award: EUR 10,000 (EUR 5,000 cash + EUR 5,000 in production services). IMPORTANTLY: Seriencamp also runs a Writers' Vision Pitch — a separate, more accessible track for writer-creators who do not yet have a production company attached.

What You Get

8 projects pitched live on stage. Up to 20 in Digital Story Exchange reaching all accredited industry professionals. EUR 10,000 Co-Pro Award (EUR 5,000 cash + EUR 5,000 production services). As US co-production money has become harder to access, European broadcasters are actively looking south and east for co-production partners — making this an increasingly strategic entry point for African producers.

What to Submit

Series bible (max 12 pages): logline, synopsis, season-one story arc, character descriptions, producers/authors note, visuals. One fully written scene with sample dialogue OR pilot script. Financing plan showing secured funding. Optional: mood trailer/teaser/proof of concept. All in English.

Insider Tips

The Writers' Vision Pitch is particularly relevant for African writers at an earlier stage of development — you do not need a production company attached. If selected for mandatory pitch training in Cologne (approximately 8 June), attendance is required.

Seriencamp Co-Production Pitch and Writers' Vision Pitch calls open mid-October each year. Set an alert for October 2026.
