Apple TV has officially launched in Kenya as Apple expands its iCloud+ subscription to include access to the streaming service and Apple Arcade at no additional cost.
Starting September 2026, iCloud+ subscribers in Kenya can access Apple TV’s catalogue of original films and series alongside more than 200 games available through Apple Arcade. The expanded iCloud+ offering will start at $0.99 per month for the 50GB plan in Kenya, with additional storage tiers available.
The rollout makes Kenya one of 59 new countries gaining access to Apple TV, expanding the streaming service’s global availability to 170 countries. The wider iCloud+ package incorporating Apple TV and Apple Arcade is rolling out across more than 100 countries and regions through the end of September.
The expansion also significantly increases Apple TV’s footprint in Africa, bringing the service for the first time to Kenya and several other markets across the continent, including Nigeria, Tanzania and Rwanda.
The announcement came just a day after Apple TV dominated the 78th Emmy Awards on 14 September, emerging as the year’s most-awarded platform with 28 wins, ahead of HBO Max and Netflix. Its breakout comedy Widow’s Bay led with a record 14 wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series, while Pluribus picked up major drama wins including Lead Actress for Rhea Seehorn.
Among the Apple TV titles that will now become available to Kenyan subscribers are Emmy-winning series Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio and Pluribus, Apple’s most-viewed drama, alongside films including Best Picture winner CODA and F1, the highest-grossing sports feature of all time.
“We’re excited to bring Apple TV and Apple Arcade to iCloud+ users in over 100 countries in one convenient subscription,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services and Health. “iCloud+ users can now securely store and share personal content across their devices, enjoy the absolute best in original storytelling from Apple TV, and explore an incredible lineup of hundreds of games through Apple Arcade.”
Apple TV launched globally in November 2019. According to Apple, its original films, documentaries and series have received more than 900 awards and over 3,800 nominations since launch.
The service can be accessed through the Apple TV app across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, supported smart TVs and gaming consoles.
The expanded subscription will also give Kenyan iCloud+ users access to Apple Arcade, which offers more than 200 games without advertising or in-app purchases. Its catalogue includes Football Manager 26 Touch, NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Sneaky Sasquatch and Angry Birds Reloaded.
Subscribers will additionally receive Apple Music Select, a collection of ad-free stations programmed by Apple Music. Apple is also offering iCloud+ subscribers in Kenya a discounted Apple Music subscription at $2.79 per month for an individual plan and $4.49 for a family plan.
The changes also mean Apple TV and Apple Arcade will no longer be offered as standalone subscriptions in Kenya. Existing standalone subscribers will retain access through iCloud+, with Apple saying their individual subscriptions will be cancelled as the new offering rolls out. Existing Apple Arcade game progress and saves will be preserved.
iCloud+ subscriptions can be shared with up to five family members through Apple’s Family Sharing feature.
